Jacqueline A. Gaztambide is a contemporary American artist who resides in West Hartford, Connecticut.  Originally from San  Juan, Puerto Rico, she was educated both there and briefly in Switzerland.  In 2005 she and her husband moved from Glastonbury to West Hartford, CT.  She has been a resident of Connecticut since 1987.                                

Her art derives its inspiration from a broad cultural background and a profound interest in all things artistic.  Predominantly self-taught, she has pursued studies in American and European art and culture as well as contemporary, traditional and experimental art techniques and expressions.

Jacqueline’s style can best be described as predominantly modern abstract impressionism. Never dull,  her palette runs from passionately vibrant ,hot  bursts  of color and texture to sublime chromatic wisps of sublime hues. The  themes of her work are terrestrial and universal. They are anchored in nature,  the universe and beyond as well as life experiences.    Her medium: acrylic, oil, and  mixed media on canvas applied by palette knife with passion and abandon.

Her work has been shown in juried art shows in, Canton, Essex, Middletown, Mystic and West Hartford, CT as well as in San Juan, PR.  Recently she held solo exhibits of her work at the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society in West Hartford, CT and the Canton Town Hall in Canton, CT.

She is a member of the West Hartford Art League, the Canton Artist's Guild, Milford Fine Arts Council, Farmington Valley Arts Center and the Mystic Arts Center.
